Lord Mervyn Davies CBE
Chair of the Advisory Board
Lord Davies CBE is a British former banker and was a Labour government minister until May 2010, as Minister of State for Trade, Investment and Small Business. He is currently the non-executive chairman of L1 Holdings and a senior advisor to Teneo.
Oliver is the London-based Chairman of Korn Ferry’s Board Services Practice, focusing on chairman, non-executive and executive board appointments, succession management and leadership development. Prior to his current position, he was a Vice Chairman of UBS for 10 years. Oliver began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, moving into corporate finance with Barings in London and New York.
Dr Carl Schramm
Carl is responsible for the global expansion of the Kauffman Foundation during his time as president and CEO between 2001 and 2011. He took a well-funded but relatively unknown Kansas-based foundation and grew it into the world’s leading entrepreneurship foundation. Carl is a professor in entrepreneurship at Syracuse University, a best selling author, investor and business commentator.
Mr. Cyrus Jilla served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Eight Roads Ventures Europe, overseeing the business globally until April 2019. His experience encompasses corporate strategy, major transformations, organization, mergers and acquisitions and private equity work. He is particularly recognized for his work in the luxury goods industry.
Charlotte is Director of Development at the Royal Academy of Arts. She previously worked at Outset Contemporary Art Fund, and in the curatorial departments at The National Gallery in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In 2012 she published “Corporate Art Collections: A Handbook” a history and survey of corporate collections.
Judy is Director of Philanthropy at CVC Capital Partners and oversees their global philanthropic giving. CVC also support Venture for America and other entrepreneurial organisations in Spain, Portugal and the USA. Judy is also an Executive Director of Private Equity Research Ltd.
Kanya King MBE
Kanya is CEO and founder of the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards and a highly-regarded entrepreneur. From a difficult and deprived background where she suffered racism and discrimination, Kanya has become one of the highest profile black female entrepreneurs in the country. The first MOBO Awards took place in 1996, and it has become one of Europe’s biggest Music Award ceremonies. In 1999 she was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty The Queen for services to music.
Luke Johnson is a British entrepreneur. He is a former chairman of the Pizza Express chain, the Royal Society of Arts and Channel 4. He writes a weekly column for The Sunday Times. Luke is the founder of The Centre for Entrepreneurs, which became part of NEF in September 2017.
Oli Barrett MBE
Oli is one of the original founders of the StartUp Britain and is one of the best-known and considered to be one of the most connected people in the entrepreneurship space in the UK. He is a regular MC at major events in the UK and overseas. He is also the founder of the Co- Sponsorship Agency (Cospa).
Stephen is CEO at BGF who are one of CFE’s Corporate donors. He was previously at Barclays and JP Morgan and was an adviser to government on setting up the Business Bank. Stephen is also a Council member of Innovate UK and a Non-Executive Director of Intermediate Capital Group (ICG).
Vin Murria OBE
Entrepreneur Vin Murria built Advanced Computer Systems which was sold to Vista in 2014 for £725m. She is a Senior Adviser at NM Rothschild and a Non-Exec on numerous company boards, including FinnCap and HG Capital, where she is also an investor.
